We all know what it's like to have our plans derailed. One of the biggest challenges we face is planning our next steps in life, only to find out that those plans simply won't work out. Whether they are plans for work, relationships, where we'll live or whether or not we'll purchase a home, it's really challenging to find out that they aren't going to happen.

In our lives, we're going to have our plans for ourselves interrupted a lot, so one of the important questions we need to ask is "How do I respond when things don't go the way I thought they would?" The reason that question is so important is because the answer reveals how much we trust God in the day-to-day activities of life. When things are outside of our control, the only thing we can really do is react to the changes we're experiencing.

We're going to be looking at the story of Joseph in this week's sermon, and seeing how it is always within our power to react and respond in a way that honors God - even if we are experiencing hardship. Joseph sets a great example for how we too can look at the events in life and see God's hand everywhere, working for our good and the good of others.
