When people think of God, one of the most natural associations we make with the term “God” is the term “Father.” Even for those who don’t have anything to do with Christianity and have never looked at the pages of a bible. Seeing God as a fatherly figure comes naturally to most people – even if they don’t believe He exists!
From the very beginning of the human story, God has revealed Himself as Father. He’s done so time and time again, to the degree that a picture of God is practically inseparable from a picture of a Father. This week, we’re going to pause and ask a few basic questions- Why have Christians always called Him our Heavenly Father? Why and how is He different from His Son Jesus? And, lastly, what does seeing God as Father mean for mankind?
